The azalea needs indirect light to bloom. It doesn't like the hot sun, heat from heaters or cold drafts.
It does like to rest for the winter, but soon it will need to be fed with an acid type fertilizer.

The 2 books I recommend have a world of info on growing your bonsai. Take a look at one or both. They are very inexpensive and well worth the money.

I was wondering about the winter season. is there any special care for an azalea in the winter? i have had an azalea bonsi indoors for 3 years and it has never bloomed. i was wondering if i wasnt doing something right for it... does it go through seasons like junipers? it's a very healthy looking plant just no flowers.

The pleasurable experience off Bonsai gardening is gaining in popularity increasing numbers of people in all ages and cultures are experimenting and enjoying the art. Proper watering is essential for Azalea bonsai and for puppies. Water your bonsai only when the soil is beginning to dry out and water until you see the water come out of the bottom of the pot.
